HYDE PARK — Chicago photographer Alice Hargrave will celebrate the release of her new book on Thursday at the Hyde Park Art Center.

Hargrave will explain “Paradise Wavering,” a new 45-page collection of photographs, during a conversation with Allison Grant, assistant curator of the Museum of Contemporary Photography, at the 6 p.m. event Thursday at the art center, 5020 S. Cornell Ave.

The book release coincides with Hargrave’s exhibit of the same name currently on view at the art center, showcasing 30 of her photographs.

The exhibit runs through July 24.

The event is free and open to the public.

Copies of Hargrave’s book will be available for purchase for $45 and she will be available to sign copies after the discussion.
