Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night' Playing In Washington Park, Steelworkers Park

HYDE PARK — Shakespeare in the Parks kicks off July 14 and heads south early this year with the second performance of “Twelfth Night” happening on the south lakefront.

The traveling performance of William Shakespeare’s classic comedy about separated twins marks its first South Side performance at 4 p.m. July 17 at Steelworkers Park on the lakeshore at 87th Street.

The play returns to the south lakefront for a 6:30 p.m. performance July 29 in Washington Park, 5531 S. Russell Drive, after shows in Beverly and Burnside.

The show continues at parks around the city until a final show at Ping Tom Park in Chinatown on Aug. 14.

The performances are free and open to the public.
