CHICAGO — Separate shootings minutes from each other in South Chicago wounded two men early Wednesday, according to police.

At 7:27 a.m., a 27-year-old man was shot while in the 8900 block of South Chicago Avenue, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokesman. The man was shot in his leg and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, Pacheco said.

Less than five minutes later, at 7:31 a.m., a 24-year-old was shot while in the 8400 block of South Mackinaw Avenue, Pacheco said.

He was shot multiple times and was brought to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, Pacheco said.
