CHICAGO — A 16-year-old boy was shot and wounded in Woodlawn on Friday night, police said.
At 8:45 p.m., the boy was in the 800 block of East 62nd Street when he heard shots and felt pain, said Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago Police spokesman.
The boy was hit in his leg. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not released but he was listed as "stable," Zala said.
No one was in custody in the shooting.
