Chicago Sky's Imani Boyette Joining The Girl Talk At The Hideout Tuesday

CHICAGO — The Hideout's newest monthly talk show, The Girl Talk, returns Tuesday with a lineup that is bound to inspire: Chicago Sky center Imani Boyette and Never Go Without founder Jesseca Rhymes.

The show, started by political publicist Joanna Klonsky and award-winning CPS teacher Erika Wozniak, is co-hosted by DNAinfo Deputy Editor Jen Sabella and features a new batch of inspiring guests each month.

Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., we'll debut The Girl Talk cocktail, mixed up by The Hideout's award-winning mixologists.

About our guests:

Imani Boyette was the WNBA's No. 10 draft pick this year and has an inspiring story on and off the court. Boyette comes from women's basketball royalty: her mother and aunt, Pamela and Paula McGee, played at USC with the legendary Cheryl Miller, winning national titles in 1983 and '84. A custody battle between her mom and dad made headlines when Boyette was a child, leaving her relationship with her mother strained. A history of sexual abuse as a child also led to multiple suicide attempts, and now Boyette is an outspoken advocate for mental health services. Adding to her deeply athletic family history, she recently married college sweetheart Paul Boyette, a defensive tackle for the Texas Longhorns.

Southwest Sider Jesseca Rhymes has collected thousands of tampons, pads and incontinence supplies for homeless women in the city and suburbs through her charity Never Go Without. Rhymes was inspired to start the program after reading an article on the Huffington Post about how homeless women regularly struggle while menstruating since shelters rarely receive donations for such things. On Tuesday, we're trying to collect as many incontinence supplies as possible, since items including adult diapers are donated the least. If you bring a donation, you'll be entered to win a sweet basket of The Girl Talk's favorite things.
