GARFIELD PARK — Eight people were shot, one fatally, in five separate incidents in Garfield Park between Saturday morning and Sunday morning, police said.

• The fatal shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. in the 700 block of North Ridgeway Avenue, leaving a 55-year-old man dead and two others wounded.

• Most recently, around 5 a.m. Sunday morning, a 28-year-old woman walked into Mount Sinai Hospital after being shot in her back, according to Officer Jose Estrada.

The woman had been riding in the passenger seat of a car in the 3500 block of West Walnut Street when she heard gunshots and felt pain, Estrada said.

The woman was listed in good condition, police said.

• Around 1:20 a.m. Sunday, a 17-year-old was standing in the 2700 block of West Polk Street when someone shot at him from a passing silver sedan, Estrada said.

The teen was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, Estrada said. Police could not provide his condition but said he was "stable."

• About 20 minutes earlier, a 26-year-old man was sitting on a porch in the 3500 block of West Lexington Street when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Estrada said.

The man was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was "stable" with a gunshot wound in the back, Estrada said.

• Around 3:15 p.m. Saturday, two men were standing in the 3000 block of West Fulton Street when someone shot at them from a passing light-colored car, police said.

One man, 23, was grazed in his right ankle, police said. The other man, 21, was shot in his left thigh, pelvis and left hand, police said.

Both men were brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were "stable," police said.

Police said both men are documented gang members.

No one is in custody, police said.
