LINCOLN PARK — Organizers behind the Taste of Lincoln are seeking volunteers to work the festival.
Volunteers are needed for any three-hour shift in the morning, afternoon or evening during the festival, which is set for Aug. 6-7 from noon-10 p.m. on Lincoln Avenue between Fullerton and Wrightwood avenues.
Those who sign up will not only get free refreshments and food from local eateries, but they'll also get to enjoy everything else the fest has to offer, including live music from acts like Blues Traveler and G. Love & Special Sauce, crafts and games, to name a few.
So far, organizers have recruited about a third of the 300 needed volunteers, according to Michael Hickey, volunteer coordinator for Wrightwood Neighbors Association, the group that puts on the festival.
Ticket sales go toward nonprofits and other causes in the community.
To sign up, visit the fest's website and fill out a form or email Hickey at volunteers.tasteoflincoln@gmail.com.
