LINCOLN PARK — A baby zebra was born at Lincoln Park Zoo over Father's Day weekend.

The female Grevy's zebra foal was born June 18 to parents Webster and Adia and has one sibling, Kito.

It's the zoo's first baby zebra since 2012.

Native to eastern Africa, the Grevy's zebra is considered endangered due to hunting and habitat loss.

Almost immediately after they're born, foals can stand. Within an hour of birth, foals can run short distances.
