NORTHERLY ISLAND — Country music fans are dusting off their best boots and cowboy hats this weekend at Windy City LakeShake Festival.

The three-day festival includes performances from Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, Brooks & Dunn along with a bevy of other country acts at Northerly Island.

Fans at the fest Sunday were greeted by a large screen welcoming guest and wishing them "Happy Father's Day Y'all Done Good."

The main stage kept larger crowds enthralled, but the Next From Nashville stage, featuring up-and-coming artists like Tara Thompson and William Michael Morgan, was a highlight, providing performances in an intimate setting.

Attendees were split on the location of the festival, some enjoying the skyline backdrop and proximity to Downtown while others claiming that "people are nicer" and "it's more relaxed" at bucolic country festivals outside city limits.

Fans were there to enjoy all the acts Sunday, but numerous attendees told DNAinfo they were excited to catch Jason Aldean and Thomas Rhett.

Rhett announced, "Chicago might be my favorite place to play on the planet."

Travis Tritt took the stage promising to play older material and said, "We came here for the same reason y'all did. We came to Lakeshake to party...Let's get 'er done."
