UPTOWN — FLATS Chicago unveiled its renovations to Lawrence House with a grand opening celebration featuring live DJs, rooftop drinks and tours of a model apartment Thursday night.

The tour included a peek at the building's fully restored pool, gym, boxing ring, grand lobby, bar, roof deck, lounge and Heritage Outpost at the apartment complex at 1020 W. Lawrence Ave.

The developers also announced the winners of its small business incubator project, Owen and Alchemy: "a chef-driven juice apothecary, crafting cold-pressed, plant-based juice, smoothies, nut milks and custom herbal blends."

The project asked voters to choose a small business for the residential building's ground floor retail space. The contest, designed to give an entrepreneur the opportunity to kick-start their small business, awarded the juice bar more than $100,000 in benefits including a year of free rent on the ground floor of one of FLATS' buildings.
