CTA Will Close Addison Blue Line Stop, Alter Loop Trains This Weekend

CHICAGO — Work on the Blue Line this weekend will force the closure of the Addison stop, according to the CTA.

The Addison stop will be closed in both directions starting at 10 p.m. Friday and lasting until 4 a.m. Monday, the CTA said in a press release. Blue Line trains traveling in both directions will not stop at Addison during the weekend.

Commuters will be able to board a shuttle bus between Addison and Belmont Blue Line stations throughout the weekend, CTA said.

Crews will also work on the "L" tracks along Lake Street and Wabash Avenue in the Loop this weekend, the CTA said. The tracks along Lake and Wabash will be shut down while crews work on the Washington & Wabash station, CTA said.

Because of the work, reroutes will be ordered for the Orange, Brown, Green and Pink Line trains, the CTA said. The reroutes will last from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.

The Orange and Brown lines will operate as one route between Kimball and Midway. The Green Line will operate between Harlem & Lake and Cottage-Ashland/63rd Street via the west-side of the Loop "L" tracks. 

Pink Line trains will operate between 54th & Cermak and downtown via Wells & Van Buren. Trains will begin and end their trips at the Roosevelt station, CTA said.
