HYDE PARK — A former resident artist at the Hyde Park Art Center is returning to turn his memories of his studio into a new exhibit.

Los Angeles-based artist and photographer Paul Mpagi Sepuya will open “Some Recent Pictures (Chicago)” on Sunday with a public reception starting at 3 p.m. at the art center, 5020 S. Cornell Ave.

The exhibit features many of the ephemera from Sepuya’s studio while he was as a Jackman Goldwasser resident artist and includes many portraits of other Chicago artists who came through the art center and stopped in Sepuya’s studio.

The exhibit runs through Aug. 27 and is free and open to the public.
