ROGERS PARK — Plans are coming along for a new restaurant set on a busy stretch of Sheridan Road near the new Loyola hotel.

The city recently approved building permits to convert the storefront at 6606 N. Sheridan Road from a retail store into a restaurant, records show. The project is expected to cost $200,000, records show.

In recent years, the location has been home to a cellphone and corner store, as well as a temporary Halloween costume shop in the fall. It sits adjacent to a section of apartment buildings, as well as a Chipotle and Bop N Grill.

Keith Lord, president of Lord Companies LLC, which manages the property, said he couldn't yet say what type of restaurant it would become, but said he could reveal more details in mid-July.

Dearborn Architects are slated to design the project, according to records.

The restaurant's owner could not be reached for comment.
