
HYDE PARK — The Netflix series "Sense8" wrapped up shooting in Chicago with a stint at the University of Chicago on Tuesday.
Crews were breaking down lights and other equipment Wednesday morning after shooting scenes inside Oriental Institute, 1155 E. 58th St., and other university buildings, with the largest scene including 120 extras on the quads.
The science fiction show by the “Matrix” film franchise creators Lana and Lilly Wachowski along with J. Michael Straczynski has been shooting its second season in Chicago since the beginning of the month.

Lana Wachowski, who was born and raised in Chicago, has taken over more of the filming for the second season and the Oriental Institute posted photos on Twitter of her working in the museum’s Breasted Hall with actors and crews Tuesday.

Crews outside the museum on Wednesday said they were done shooting the show in Chicago for this year and production was now moving to Germany.
According to Atmosphere Casting of Chicago, more than 870 extras were expected to have been used during the filming from June 5-14.
