CHICAGO — Do you look like a North Shore high school student ditching school?
If so, you could win a Ferris Bueller prize from the Willis Tower Skydeck.
The Skydeck will host a "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" look-alike contest at the tower on June 24. Fans can dress as any character from the iconic 1986 film and enter to win a prize pack from the Willis Tower, according to a news release sent by the Skydeck.
To enter the contest, fans will have to dress up as Ferris, Cameron, Sloane or another beloved cast member and post a photo of themselves at the Skydeck with the hashtag #FerrisAtSkydeck.
The prize includes a "Pie in the Sky" package, where four guests can dine on deep dish pizza on the 103rd floor of the tower (a $400 value, according to a Willis Tower spokesman). The winner will also receive a Ferris Bueller T-shirt, coffee mug as well as Skydeck merchandise.
The contest is in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the movie famously shot in Chicago. Events are being held throughout the city, including a $300 Ferris Fest that will see a replica of Ferris' bedroom at the Virgin Hotel. The movie is being screened as part of the city's movies in the parks events.
A memorable scene from the movie was shot at the Sears Tower, as it was called then. In the scene, Ferris instructs his friends to step onto the guard rail and lean up against the tower's windows. At that time, the tower did not have its glass ledge feature.
Willis Tower will hold more than just the look-alike contest.
Throughout the summer, the tower will host an "Abe Froman, Sausage King of America" food cart, a "Ferris stood here" photo opp and a "take a ride with Ferris" event in partnership with Ferrari.
Willis Tower did not say when the individual events would take place, but did indicate the Ferrari event will happen at the end of July.
