CHICAGO — A bank robber authorities have dubbed the "North Center Bandit" struck again on Wednesday, hitting a Chase Bank in Jefferson Park.

At 5:56 p.m., a man robbed a bank in the 5300 block of North Elston Avenue, according to the FBI. The same man is believed to have robbed at least four other banks since last year:

• 2:24 p.m. Aug. 21 in the 4200 block of North Lincoln

• 4:02 p.m. Aug. 27 in the 3300 block of North Ashland

• 4:06 p.m. Sept. 25 in the 3300 block of West Belmont

• 4:09 p.m. Oct. 20 in the 3300 block of North Ashland

The robber is described as a white man who is from 5'11 to 6'2, weighs from 180 to 230 pounds and is 23 to 35 years old, according to the FBI. He has brown hair and has worn a baseball cap and plaid shirt during some of the robberies.

The FBI says the man goes into a bank, approaches a bank employee and threatens them if he is not given money.

In October, the FBI announced a $5,000 reward.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call the FBI at 312-421-6700.
