CHICAGO — East Side's been hit by a string of robberies — but they're after flowers, not money.
A video taken by a resident shows a person parking in front of a house, looking around while walking up to the house and then snatching two pots of flowers before driving off in the car.
The video was posted to a Facebook group frequented by East Side neighbors on the city's far Southeast Side. Several members of the group have posted about flower pots being stolen off their front lawns and steps.
"I know our house has beautiful flowers and all, but my dad works REALLY hard and dedicates himself to the beautiful flowers and plants, and for people to steal that is awful," one of the members wrote. "Again, they're just flowers, why would anybody steal them."

It's not the first time plant thieves have been seen in Chicago. A West Ridge business said a woman was pulling plants from their flower beds last summer, and a Lincoln Park salon said its tropical tree was stolen in August.
