LINCOLN SQUARE — Observant residents of Lincoln Square may have noticed something odd about Giddings Fountain — it's been dry all spring.
Turns out, you can't have a fountain without water.
Water main work on Lincoln Avenue, and problems connecting the fountain to the new pipes, are to blame for the fountain's dormant state, according to Ryan Warsing of the Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce.
City crews have promised the chamber that the fountain will be repaired, and the surrounding street will be reopened, in time for Thursday night's concert in Giddings Plaza, Warsing said.
