HYDE PARK — Architecture fans can get a detailed look at the South Side as the Chicago Architecture Foundation attempts to give 50 architectural tours in a single day on June 18.

The tours are part of the foundation’s 50th anniversary, and Hyde Park, Kenwood and other parts of the South Side are all getting special attention.

The historic mansions of Kenwood, the campus of the University of Chicago and Hyde Park’s Robie House and other landmarks are all getting their own two-hour walking tours.

Visitors could instead opt for a visit to the thousands of Confederate soldiers’ graves in Oak Woods Cemetery in Greater Grand Crossing.

The foundation is also offering tours of Wicker Park, Logan Square and across Downtown, but the South Side tours are expected to be well attended and the foundation is recommending people reserve a spot in advance.

All of the walking tours are $15 and free for foundation members.

Ticket prices vary for other tours, and bus and river cruise tours are between $30 and $46.

A full schedule of all 50 tours is available on the foundation’s website.
