12 Wounded in Citywide Shootings Since Monday Morning, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings around the city wounded 12 people, including a 6-year-old girl, between Monday morning and Tuesday morning, police said.

• The girl was hit in a drive-by shooting outside a house party in Logan Square Monday night.

• Earlier that evening, a 22-year-old man was shot in his arm while walking in Little Village.

• Early Tuesday morning, a 21-year-old man was shot in his leg in Logan Square.

• In Monday's last reported shooting, around 11:20 p.m., an 18-year-old man was standing in an alley in the 6800 block of South Anthony Avenue in Park Manor when someone shot at him from a passing black car, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was brought to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound in his pelvis, Pacheco said. Police could not provide his condition but said he was "stable."

• About 15 minutes earlier, two 22-year-old men were standing on a porch in the 6100 block of South Eberhart Avenue in Woodlawn when someone shot at them from a passing car, police said.

One of the men was brought to St. Bernard Hospital with a gunshot wound in his left arm, and the other was brought to the University of Chicago Medical Center after being shot in his right hand, Pacheco said. Both men were listed in good condition.

Police said both men are documented gang members.

• Just before 11 p.m. Monday night, a 23-year-old man was driving eastbound in the 1500 block of East 73rd Street in Grand Crossing when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Pacheco said.

The man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition with gunshot wounds in his chest and left shoulder, Pacheco said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• Around 9:35 p.m., a 22-year-old man was driving northbound in the 8300 block of South Ada Street in Auburn Gresham when he heard gunshots and felt pain, police said.

The man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was "stable" with gunshot wounds in his legs, Pacheco said.

• About a half-hour earlier, three men were shot in the 5000 block of South May Street in Back of the Yards, police said.

One man, 23, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was "stable" after being shot in his leg and his hip, police said.

Another man, 24, was brought to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was "stable" with a gunshot wound in his ankle, police said.

The third person, 17, refused medical attention after he suffered a graze wound, police said.

• Around 4:20 p.m. Monday afternoon, a 28-year-old man was driving in the 4600 block of West Chicago Avenue in Austin when someone shot at him, police said.

The man was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition with a gunshot wound in his leg, police said.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings, police said.
