GRAND CROSSING — Officers found a man shot to death inside a car in a South Side alley early Sunday, police said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office later identified the man as 21-year-old Dontay Murray, of the 6600 block of South Michigan Avenue.

Around 12:50 a.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 7600 block of South Drexel Avenue, where they found Murray unresponsive with two gunshot wounds in his neck, according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Murray was pronounced dead on the scene, Lemmon said.

No one is in custody, police said.
