Washington Park Shooting Kills 22-Year-Old Man, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 22-year-old man was shot and killed in Washington Park on Friday morning, police said.

At 7:30 a.m., the man was in the 5600 block of South Wabash when he was shot, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was a documented gang member and convicted felon, police said.

The man was identified as Kevin Larry, of the 6100 block of South Cottage Grove, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Larry was pronounced dead at 7:47 a.m. and an autopsy showed he died of a gunshot wound in his torso in a homicide.

No one was in custody in the shooting. No further information was immediately available.
