RAVENSWOOD — Ravenswood finally has a farmers market to call its own.
Debuting 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, rain or shine, the weekly market will feature vendors selling fruits and vegetables, baked goods, cheese, flowers and more, 4900 N. Damen Ave. in the parking lot of the Ravenswood Evangelical Covenant Church.
A bonus for families: There's an on-site playground and craft and science experiment tables to keep the young ones occupied.
To celebrate the market's grand opening, local folk guitarist Johnny Young will be on hand to provide live music, 6-8 p.m.
Jewelry maker MAKA Designs Lifestyle and menswear stylist Cynthia at Trumaker will be participating as guest vendors at the inaugural market.
