CHICAGO — Shootings on the city's South and West Side left eight people hurt between Monday morning and Tuesday morning, police said.
• Around 11:15 p.m. Monday night, a woman was shot four times, once in the head, while stopped at a red light in Englewood.
• Between 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., two separate shootings left four men wounded in the South Shore neighborhood.
• Around 2:25 a.m. Tuesday morning, a 31-year-old man was walking in the 300 block of West 113th Street in Roseland when someone emerged from a nearby alley and shot at him, according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
The man was brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, Lemmon said, where he was listed in serious condition with a gunshot wound in his shoulder.
• At 4:25 p.m. Monday afternoon, a 16-year-old was walking in the 9700 block of South Avenue L in the city's East Side neighborhood when someone shot at him from a passing car, police said.
The teen brought himself to Trinity Hospital, police said, and he was transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center. He was listed in serious condition with gunshot wounds in his hip and buttocks.
Police said the teen is a documented gang member.
About 15 minutes earlier, police said, a 22-year-old man was shot in his leg in the 700 block of South Pulaski Road in North Lawndale.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, police said.
No one is in custody for any of the shootings, police said.
