Lunch Break: We Tried Budlong's Extra Hot Chicken, And It's Addicting

By  Ariel Cheung Patty Wetli and Paul Biasco | May 20, 2016 1:56pm

LAKEVIEW — As journalists, it's our job to explore the unexplored, leaving no rock unturned.

Or in this case, no chicken wing.

With Budlong Hot Chicken opening this week at 2928 N. Broadway, DNAinfo Chicago was there to ask the hard questions. Questions like: Just how hot is the "really freakin' hot" Nashville fried chicken?

Joined by Budlong owner and barbecue master Jared Leonard, we found the answer during our first Facebook Live Lunch Break.

Take a look, and tell us what you think:

Budlong serves up fried chicken plates for $9-$17 with four choices of seasoning, from naked to x-hot. Sides include elote, potato salad, biscuits and collard greens.

Desserts include $3 Spudnuts and a $6 vanilla bourbon wafer milkshake.
