HUMBOLDT PARK — A time capsule from 1889 that was uncovered during the demolition of a Humboldt Park church was packed with newspapers telling the stories of the day.
The Oct. 26, 1889, Saturday evening issue of the Chicago Daily News, which was inside, contained stories of burglaries, a lawsuit over a tugboat license fee and of a judge who refused to hear more than 10 divorce cases a day.
