18-Year-Old Shot In The Leg Tuesday Morning in Woodlawn

WOODLAWN — An 18-year-old man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital Tuesday morning after being shot in the leg in Woodlawn, according to police.

University of Chicago police responded to a report of shots fired at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday near 62nd Street and Kimbark Avenue and found the man with a gunshot wound to his calf on the 6200 block of South Kimbark Avenue.

According to the Chicago Police Department, two black men wearing gray and black hooded sweatshirts went up to the man and one of them shot him in the leg, then both ran away.

The injured man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and police described his condition as “good.”

Area Central detectives are investigating and no suspects were in custody as of late Tuesday morning.
