CHICAGO — It's not just you. It really has been an uncommonly gloomy week, with the city choked in rain and fog Tuesday and Wednesday.

As of Thursday, precipitation had been recorded in Chicago five of the last seven days, according to the National Weather Service.

"We've just been getting hit with one system after another," meteorologist Amy Seeley said. "It's not that unusual for spring, but still, this is a really massive pattern."

But the sun is about to make a comeback, Seeley added.

After "some showers" Friday afternoon, the skies look like they'll stay mostly sunny through Saturday and Sunday.

It'll stay cool, though, with temperatures in the mid-50s, she said — about 10 degrees below the average for this time of year.

It's likely to stay dry through the day Monday, too, Seeley added, with some possible rain later that night.
