CHICAGO — Chicago baseball is blessed with two dominant aces at the top of their games — and at the top of their leagues.

But even Sox star Chris Sale says Jake Arrieta of the Cubs is the best in town.

"I don't think there's a question," Sale said with a laugh Thursday when asked by ESPN's Scott Van Pelt about who is the best pitcher in Chicago.

"I think, not only is he the best pitcher in Chicago, I think he's the best pitcher in the league. I don't think there's an argument for that."

Sale is off to a ridiculous 6-0 start with a 1.66 ERA for the first-place Sox.

Arrieta, last year's National League Cy Young winner, is also 6-0, but he boasts a 0.84 ERA for the Best in the Bigs Cubs — and he's already thrown a no hitter this season.

Arrieta is also in the midst of perhaps the most dominant stretch of pitching in baseball history. In his 18 regular season starts (all Cubs wins) dating back to last season, he's 17-0 with a 0.55 ERA.

"What Arrieta has done since the second half of last year and what he's been continuing to do at the beginning of this year, it's phenomenal," Sale told Van Pelt. "It's unbelievable. I don't know if anybody's had that dominant of a stretch. He makes it looks easy. He kind of frustrates you, you know. It's not that easy.

"This may be politically incorrect, but it's fun to watch. A guy like that, he's good for the city of Chicago. He's good for the game of baseball. And people should learn from that."
