LOGAN SQUARE — It's an end of an era in Logan Square.

Sometimes you have to say goodbye before you can say hello.

At least that's what the famed "Aloha" billboard proclaimed for more than a year, overlooking Logan Square and its residents who passed by the iconic image daily.

Sadly, the billboard for the infamously poorly received movie "Aloha" never made it to its first birthday.

The timing could not be worse, as "fans" of the colorful billboard had planned a makeshift tiki party later this month to celebrate the major milestone that has gone somewhat viral since the announcement.

Reporter Paul Biasco might owe everyone in Logan Square a fruity drink.

The billboard even sparked a Tumblr account celebrating its longevity, which was entirely devoted to its existence, logansquarealohabillboard.tumblr.com.

It is unknown why the billboard came down Friday. DNAinfo is investigating the matter.
