CHICAGO — The Blackhawks' Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane celebrated Toews' birthday in the way only friends can: by teasing each other.
Their social media ribbing started when Kane wished Toews a happy birthday on Twitter — calling the Blackhawks' captain an "old man." Toews questioned why Kane wasn't following him on Twitter, and Kane suggested he thought Toews might have been too boring to follow.
The two have been buddies since their early days on the hockey team, rooming together on the road and signing joint eight-year contract extensions. They have won three Stanley Cups together.
Toews turned 28 on Friday.
oh and happy bday to @JonathanToews you old man
