HUMBOLDT PARK — Doug Sohn's weekend o' sausage Dog Dayz of Summer will return to Humboldt Park this June.
The second annual fest dedicated to Sohn's signature Hot Doug's sausages, Goose Island beer and live music takes over the Goose Island Barrel Warehouse lot, 605 N. Sacramento Blvd., June 24-25.
Tickets to the three, three-hour weekend sessions, priced at $75 each, are now on sale online. Tickets include unlimited samplings of Hot Doug's most famous sausage sandwiches, three beer tickets and a token for a specialty tapping of a rare Goose Island beer for attendees 21 and older.
Sohn will be serving his sausages up with iconic duck fat fries and introducing a new sausage made especially for Dog Dayz, according to a news release.
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is slated to take the stage June 24 and Waco Brothers and Tossers will rock June 25 sessions.
A portion of the ticket proceeds benefits the Intonation Music Workshop, a group that provides music education and access to instruments for children otherwise might not have the opportunity to experience music.
The family-friendly event is produced by Criterion Productions.
Known for hours-long lines and its namesake proprietor, Hot Doug's, at 3324 N. California Ave., closed in October 2014.
Since closing, Sohn has opened a Hot Doug's-themed concession stand at Wrigley Field, created his own Atomic Pizza with Piece Brewery for a good cause, and was honored with the "The Doug Sohn," a Chicago-style hot dog/fried chicken sandwich, at Honey Butter Fried Chicken, and hosted a Hot Doug's pop up at Publican Quality Meats in January.
