CHICAGO — A 14-year-old boy was wounded in a Chatham shooting Saturday night, according to police.

The boy was in the street in the 8900 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue at 9:15 p.m. when someone in a passing SUV opened fire, said Officer Veejay Zala, Chicago Police spokesman.

He was struck in his left thigh and was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, Estrada said. Police didn't have the boy's condition but did say he was "stable" Zala said.

No arrests have been made, Zala said.
