HYDE PARK — Jackson Park is hosting a ‘70s themed run on May 14.

The new Jackson Park Five Classic Run starts bright and early at 7:30 a.m. at 1900 E. Hayes Drive for the “groovy” five-mile run.

Those looking for a shorter run can do the “funky” five-kilometer run starting at 7:50 a.m.

For kid runners, there is the “Right On!” half-mile run starting at 9:45 a.m.

Everyone who registers before Saturday on the event website will get a free T-shirt.

Registration is $35 for the adult runs and $15 for the youth run until Sunday and then prices to up to $40 for the adult runs and $20 for the youth run.

All proceeds benefit Tri-Masters Sports Initiative programs and the South East Chicago Commission.
