LINCOLN PARK — A proposal to convert a three-unit building in Lincoln Park into a mini hotel will go before the community next week.

In an email, Ald. Michele Smith (43rd) said an applicant is seeking a zoning change to convert the units at 2525 N. Orchard St. into vacation rentals, but offered no further details on the project. A message to Smith's office was not returned.

A community meeting to weigh support for the zoning change is set for May 2 at Alcott Elementary School, 2625 N. Orchard St., beginning at 6 p.m.

Built in 1884, the building is made up of three apartments, according to county records.

Chet Evans of 2525 Partners LLC is listed as the property's most recent owner, according to county records. Evans, who is listed as the vice president of Millennium Properties, was not immediately available for comment.

Last year, development company and Airbnb "superhost" Liz Klafeta said they were opening the city's first Airbnb hotel at an undisclosed location in Lincoln Park. Klafeta did not respond to a message seeking comment.
