LINCOLN PARK — White Oak Tavern & Inn will start serving lunch this week.
The Lincoln Park restaurant, 1200 W. Webster Ave., will serve its new menu from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays.
The menu consists of sandwiches, salads and large plates — all using ingredients from regional farms and local artisans.
A few examples: The White Oak Cobb salad with bacon, soft-poached egg, avocado, tomato, croutons and ranch ($11), avocado toast with feta, pickled red onion, arugula, cilantro and bacon ($10) and grilled hanger steak with chimichurri butter and shoestring potatoes ($21).
The dishes can be paired with one of the restaurant's many seasonal cocktails or craft beers.
White Oak Tavern & Inn opened in December 2014, serving Midwestern-inspired food and drink with an emphasis on craft cocktails, beers and small batch bourbons. It replaced the family-owned, 20-year-old John's Place restaurant.
