LINCOLN PARK — Bauler Park Playlot is getting a makeover — but not before the community weighs in on the final design.

Give feedback and offer suggestions at an upcoming community meeting set for April 27 at The Church of the Three Crosses, 333 W. Wisconsin St., beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The project has been an ongoing effort for neighborhood groups Lincoln Central Association and Bauler Park Advisory Council, Ald. Michele Smith's 43rd Ward office and the Chicago Park District.

Smith said the project will likely cost up to $150,000 through the park district's Chicago Plays! program, but members of Lincoln Central Association don't want to stop there. They're raising money for additional improvements like landscaping and replacing the wood chips.

Kenneth Dotson, president of the Lincoln Central Association, called the park a "tremendous asset" to the neighborhood.

"Lincoln Central Association was thrilled when Alderman Smith notified us last year," Dotson said in a prepared statement.
