South Side Shootings Leave 7 Wounded, Police Say

CHICAGO— Seven people were wounded in South Side shootings on Sunday, police said. 

Most recently, at 10:29 p.m., a 41-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man were walking in the 500 block of East 103rd Street in Roseland when they were shot, said Officer Nicole Trainor, a Chicago Police spokeswoman. The woman who was shot in her stomach and the man who shot in his neck. Both were taken to Christ Medical Center, where both were listed in critical condition, Trainor said. 

No one is in custody for the shootings, Trainor said.

At 10:15 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot his stomach after an argument in the 7200 block of South Prairie Avenue in Park Manor, Trainor said. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in critical condition. A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with the shooting and charges are pending, Trainor said.

At 8 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in the 800 block of East 82nd Street in Chatham when someone shot at him from a light-colored SUV, Trainor said. The man who shot in his left leg and was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was listed in fair condition, Trainor said. 

The man is a documented gang member, police said. 

No one is in custody for the shooting, Trainor said. 

Earlier in the afternoon: 

At 3:55 p.m., 25-year-old woman heard shots and felt pain in the 100 block of East 120th Place in West Pullman, Trainor said. The woman checked herself in Roseland Hospital with gunshot wounds in her leg, Trainor said. 

No one is in custody for the shooting, Trainor said. 

At 2:30 p.m., someone walked up to a 19-year-old man and shot him in his left foot in the 6400 block of South Eberhart Avenue in Woodlawn, Trainor said. The shooter than ran off, she said. 

The victim was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition, Trainor said. 

No one is in custody for the shooting, Trainor said.

At 1:53 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in the 8300 block of South Stewart Avenue in West Chatham, Trainor said. The man refused medical attention, Trainor said.

At 11 a.m., an 18-year-old man was shot in the 5600 block of South Michigan Avenue in Washington Park, Trainor said. The man, who was shot in his hand and shoulder, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, Trainor said.

The man is a documented gang member, police said.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Trainor said.
