ROGERS PARK — It's hard to spot a food truck in the wild when you're way up on the Far North Side, but once a week, on a relatively secluded, cobblestone street, they come out to play.

It's part of Rogers Park Social's "Food Truck Fridays" series, and since late 2015 the bar at 6920 N. Glenwood Ave. has been bringing heavy food hitters to the neighborhood like Gino's Steaks, Amanecer Tacos and Paris Ouh La La.

Most of the trucks that have been featured have come by way of recommendation from the vendors themselves, Meek said.

The pop-and-pop bar is owned by couple William Meek and Eric Archambeault, who also own neighboring business Rogers Park Provisions.

"We really think of it as a community-oriented event, and are happy when people pair the food with our beverages, but are just as happy to see the number of families, and patrons of other places turn out as well," Meek said.

The couple also said the response to the food trucks, which sit right outside the bar's front door along a mural-laden Glenwood Avenue, has so far been "unbelievably positive."

The initiative has been running since the fall and through the winter, Meek said, keeping it going year-round.

April is the first month the duo already has the remaining Friday slots filled. Trucks show up at 6 p.m. and sell out within hours, the Meek said.

"The trucks are having to stock more and more food to keep from running out within an hour or so," he said.

Here's a sneak peek at who to expect in Rogers Park soon:

April 15: Wow Bao

• April 22: SOHO

• April 23: Dönermen (Special Guest)

• April 29: Aztec Dave's
