CHICAGO — Police have announced charges for a man they believe was behind the shooting of a 14-year-old boy in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood Sunday night.
Around 10 p.m. Sunday, police said, the man hid behind a car in the 5700 block of West Belden Avenue and fired shots toward three people, hitting the boy in his right hand. The teen was taken to West Suburban Hospital in "stable" condition.
Ortiz was later found and arrested after "further investigation," police said.
Ismael Ortiz, 19, will face a felony charge of aggravated battery in bond court Wednesday, police said.
