LINCOLN PARK — A 23-year-old man has been charged in connection to the burglary of a Lincoln Park jewelry store, police said.

Around 1 a.m. Monday morning, police said, Doel Pizarro and another man tripped the alarm at Steve Quick Jeweler, 2471 N. Clark St., and were later seen walking out of the store.,

Pizarro, of the 2300 block of North Newland Avenue, was caught and arrested "a short distance away," police said, where he was found in possession of "burglary tools."

Pizarro was charged with two felony counts of burglary.

The jeweler posted to the store's Facebook page Monday, saying "It's been an interesting day at our Lincoln Park store. Fortunately no one was hurt and we didn't loose [sic] any of our customer's jewelry!"

On Facebrook, the jeweler wrote that they were broken into four years ago. This time, though, "they got nothing."

"The jerks caused a lot of damage but didn't get into the safe. It could have been much worse!" the company posted.
