Chance The Rapper's 'Angels' Video Shows Chicago's Splendor

THE LOOP — So much bad news here can make it hard to remember how great this city is.

Then Chance The Rapper drops a new video offering plenty of vivid reminders.

The Chicago rapper from 79th Street finally released his "Angels" video Thursday. Directed by Austin Vesely on a sunny winter day, the video has juking on the Brown Line, Hebru Brantley art, and reflections by the Board of Trade Building.

"City so damn great, I feel like Alexander / Wear your halo like a hat, that's like the latest fashion / I got angels all around me they keep me surrounded," guest rapper Saba says in the song's hook

The Chatham rapper has had a meteoric rise this year. Chance debuted "Angels" on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, set up a coat/sleeping bag drive for the needy, and is now the face of the Chicago White Sox. He'll headline an anniversary party Friday for Power 92, a radio station that also gets a shout-out on the song.
