ARMOUR SQUARE — There’s a lot to be excited about at U.S. Cellular Field this season.

Come the White Sox Home Opener against the Cleveland Indians Friday and you'll have plenty of new offerings to explore.

Here’s a look at what you can expect to see:

TATER TACHOS?

Yeah, that’s right.

The White Sox will offer a bunch of new food options this year, and one menu item is Tater Tachos — tater tots topped with nacho cheese and jalapenos.

On the Cell’s 100 level and 500 levels, you’ll find many more additions to the menus of concession stands, like the bacon cheddar pretzel dog, a Vienna Beef hot dog served on a pretzel roll covered with nacho cheese and bacon.

At the park’s snow cone carts, you’ll find “adult” hot cocoa (hot chocolate spiked with Bailey’s Irish Cream) and snow cones (your average icy treat ... with vodka).

GIANT VIDEO BOARDS

These will be hard to miss.

There will be two 2,500-square-foot video boards towering over right and left fields. Then there’s the 7,000-square-foot center field mega screen decked out with digital versions of the Cell’s famed spinning pinwheels.

The $7.3 million center field board — almost five times the size of the team’s old board, the smallest in Major League Baseball — puts the Cell in Major League Baseball’s Top 10 for biggest screens.

BEGGARS PIZZA

On the 100-level concourse, you’ll find a new tenant near Section 163: Beggars Pizza.

Here you’ll find new dishes like fried Caprese ravioli, chicken parmesan sandwiches, barbecue chicken pizza and one item that’s bound to become a South Side favorite: Italian beef and giardiniera pizza.

COCA-COLA CRAZY

You’ll notice a lot of logos and programs from Coke, the official soft drink of the White Sox.

In a new multi-year partnership with the Sox, Coca-Cola will sponsor a fireworks night, giveaways and an interactive “Snap-a-Coke” photo feature during all home games.
