Austin Shooting Leaves Man Dead, Police Say

AUSTIN — A 32-year-old man was shot to death in Austin early Wednesday morning, police said.

Around 1:45 a.m., the man was walking in the 4900 block of West Madison Street when a man walked up and shot him multiple times before running away, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene, Sedevic said.

The man was identified as Aurelio Guzman, of the 2200 block of North Lavergne Avenue, in Cook County Medical Examiner's records. Guzman was pronounced dead at 2 a.m. at the scene of the shooting.

No one is in custody, Sedevic said.
