Obama's Chicago Phone Number Found In Old Hyde Park Phone Book

CHICAGO — Before they were the First Couple, Michelle and Barack Obama were average Chicagoans — so average you could give them a ring just by looking up their names in the local white pages.

That's what one Chicagoan discovered while rehabbing an old building, according to a post on Reddit that included a picture of the listing (with numbers redacted.)

The Obamas bought their current Kenwood home in 2005, but their history in Hyde Park goes way back: Obama had lived in the area for decades, and the couple shared their first kiss in the neighborhood when they started dating.

They visit from time to time, when they're not busy with all that White House stuff, and Obama's presidential library is expected to open on the South Side by 2020 or 2021. It's not yet clear if they plan to move back to the area after their time in the White House is over.
