CHICAGO — Street-sweeping season in the city starts Friday.

The sweepers will run into November — the schedule is posted online — with information on temporary parking restrictions posted the day before a sweep is scheduled or posted on permanent signs, according to the city. Residents can also call 311 or their local ward sanitation office for street-sweeping information.

Streets and Sanitation sweepers started cleaning up curb lanes, center lanes and viaducts earlier this year, according to the city. Crews also have been picking up litter and garbage the sweepers couldn't take care of.
