RIVER NORTH — Seoul Taco, a St. Louis import marrying Mexican and Korean flavors, is coming to River North.
The mini-chain will open in May in the shuttered Mercadito Counter storefront at 738 N. Clark St., according to a news release. The River North outpost will be Seoul Taco's fourth restaurant, and first in Chicago, following a recent opening in downstate Champaign.
“We like to think that we take the idea of Korean tacos to a new level,” owner David Choi said in a statement. “Chicago is such a melting pot of cultures, and we’re excited to be a part of such an amazing food scene.”
The menu includes tacos with "Seoul sauce" and Korean salad sold for $2.50 each, $8 burritos with Kimchi fried rice, and $8 Gogi bowls with rice, vegetables, a fried egg and Spicy Gochujang Pepper Sauce. Each entree comes with a choice of protein.
