Get To Know LSC Candidates At Upcoming Forums; Elections In Two Weeks

LINCOLN SQUARE — With Local School Council elections just weeks away, several schools are holding candidate forums in the coming days.

Meet the folks running for parent and community representatives at the following schools.

Tuesday

• Budlong Elementary, 7 p.m.

• Lane Tech College Prep High School, 6 p.m.

• Peterson Elementary, 6 p.m.

• Ravenswood Elementary, 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday

• McPherson Elementary, 5 p.m.

• Murphy Elementary, 3:30 p.m.

• Waters Elementary, 6:30 p.m.

Thursday

• Amundsen High School, 6 p.m.

• Disney II, 5 p.m., Kedvale campus

• Edison Regional Gifted Center, 6 p.m.

LSC elections are scheduled for April 13-14. The new council terms, which last for two years, begin July 1.

The councils are responsible for approving school budgets, developing and monitoring annual School Improvement Plans, and hiring and firing principals.
