LINCOLN PARK — A hacker who is responsible for spreading hate fliers at DePaul University and 11 other college campuses across the U.S. reportedly targeted "every publicly accessible printer in North America."

Andrew Auernheimer, who goes by the alias "Weev," told the New York Times that he did not specifically target college campuses.

“My motivation is this: White cultures and only white cultures are subject to an invasion of foreigners," Auernheimer told the Times.

The fliers tout white supremacy and blame Jews for immigration and "destroying" the country.

Last week, DePaul president Dennis Holtschneider said in a statement that the school was "investigating the breach as well as the source and origin of the despicable act."

As part of the investigation, DePaul has turned off remote printing at the university.

According to the Times, Auernheimer was part of a group that hacked into AT&T's servers and gained access to the data of 114,000 customers in 2010.

In addition to DePaul, schools across the country like Princeton University, the University of California at Berkeley and Brown University were also hit with hate fliers.
