ALBANY PARK — Applying for a mortgage or filling out a financial aid form mostly involves a lot of addition and subtraction but can seem as convoluted as trigonometry.
Saturday's Financial Education Resource Fair at Roosevelt High School is designed to demystify the basics of personal finance — college savings accounts, insurance, loans and more.
The fair is free and open to the public, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 3436 W. Wilson Ave.
The event is co-sponsored by the Albany Park Community Center as part of Chicago City Treasurer Kurt Summers' "77 Proud" program, which aims to bring economic resources and financial education to all of the city's 77 neighborhoods.
A free lunch will be catered by Local Pizzeria.
